It’s a lovely day for a quick blog. So I figured why not?
Recently, I have read on a website the phrase “Ignorance is bliss” and to be quite honest with you, I believe this is both true and false.
Ignorance can be described as “a person lacking knowledge” where to other people believe it to be “a person choosing not to believe in certain aspects of life”
For example, choosing not to believe in Santa, You don’t have to believe in him but that doesn’tmean that he’s not existing nor does it mean he is.
On one hand I do believe ignorance is bliss. Such as “lacking knowledge” about death and war throughout the world OR CHOOSING not to believe that it is happening, kinda like being in denial. An example of choosing not to believe it of Elvis’ death. People choose not to believe that he is dead. But just think about it, to be completly oblivious to the world around you and not being able to see all the hardships people go through compared to constantly worrying about what is going to happen next, worrying about the future. I’d like to think of being ignorant is like a child. With all their childlike innocence, not having a care in the world. No worries like the bills or feeling guilty that they have everything they need and more while people like them in third world countries are starving it truely would be bliss.
But one the other hand I believe living your whole life in ignorance that would just become dull and boring because lets face it discussing issues like war, religion and even politics is what sets apart from everyone else and being ignorant towards these things doesn’t help.
This is a debate that I am continually running through in my mind.
It doesn’t matter if you think you want to be ignorant towards certain things or not. There is no sheilding yourself from them anyway, it’s all a part of growing up in society.
This was just a random blog and seeing as I usually don’t have anything to write about, this is pretty much the kind of stuff that you will be reading from now on.
Hope you like it.
